WHO I AM

A little bit more about who I am

After a career of around 12 years in Banking, eventually becoming a financial system expert, Heather met the man she would marry and this led to a relocation in Geneva, Switzerland.
After a brief stint working in Geneva she gave up work to have a family.
Not long after the birth of her second child she decided she would start to look towards a change in career. After developing severe scoliosis in her upper thoracic spine and lower lumber following a long and traumatic labour, it was this path to recovery that led her to current profession. Driven by the desire to help others, through strength and conditioning as well healthier lifestyle & nutritional choices.
It was in 2013 that she began her studies for her Level 3 Personal Trainer qualifications - during which she obtained certification of: Active IQ level 2 in Fitness instruction, Active IQ Level 3 in Personal Training, Active IQ Level 2 Instruction Circuits, Active IQ Level 2 instruction studio cycling, Active IQ Level 2 instructing Kettlebells and a VFA certificate in PT Padwork. Towards the end of these studies, it was then that she discovered CrossFit. She fell in love with its intensity and constantly varied approach to functional fitness.. and her new passion was born.
What she loves most about CrossFit is its commitment to functional movements, and adaptability & scalable intensity. She believes because of this, CrossFit can be programmed and made suitable to anyone, no matter their age or fitness abilities.
In January 2014, she obtained her CrossFit level 1. And started coaching at a local gym not long after.
Since then she has obtained her CrossFit Kids certification in August 2014, CrossFit Gymnastics in August 2015, and more recently CrossFit Level 2 in October 2016.
She has also attending seminars on Competitor programming for athletes in Belgium with CrossFit Invictus from San Diego in the USA. And is a avid follower of Julien Pineau of StrongFit (who also works with CrossFit Invictus atheletes), and has attended his seminar on the Principles and Philosophy of Training. Julien Pineau is an expert in his field and offer much insight and experience as a movement specialist.
She is always researching and continues to build her base of knowledge, trying to be the best coach she can.

CROSSFIT INVICTUS CAMP

Competitors programming & training seminar

Heather was lucky enough to attend the CrossFit Invictus teams' Competitor seminar in Belgium August 2016.

She met a few of the athletes, namely Sam Dancer, Lauren Fisher, Kristin Holte & Aja Barto.

"Attending this camp as a coach wanting to learn, I was feeling more than a little overwhelmed and apprehensive, due to long suffering shoulder injuries, & I did not feel physcially fit! I needn't have worried, the whole team welcomed me, made me feel like part of the group, and I have been following the Invictus programming since then. I am still in contact with Nichole (CrossFit Masters), Julien (Humanist & Movement specialist), and Shane Farmer their rowing expert. I can safely say the whole Invictus experience and my 4 days in Belgium totally inspired me!

Having my shoes signed by CJ and the boys was a highlight haha"
